Description
Discover the timeless wonder of Petra, one of the most iconic archaeological sites in the world. Established in the 6th century BC as the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom, Petra is renowned for its breathtaking rock-cut architecture and advanced water conduit system.
Often described as “a rose-red city half as old as time”, Petra remained hidden from the Western world until its rediscovery by Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812. Today, it stands as Jordan’s most visited attraction and has been featured by the BBC as one of “the 40 places you must see before you die.”
Located on the slopes of Mount Hor and surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of Wadi Araba, Petra offers visitors a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty.
